Cherished Moments: A Newborn and Toddler Family Shoot with Alex and Jess at Patonga

May 12, 2025 by Jaypee Abraham

We recently had the absolute pleasure of photographing another special chapter in the lives of Alex and Jess—a beautiful newborn family photography Central Coast session in the stunning coastal town of Patonga. This shoot was particularly meaningful for us, as we’ve been lucky enough to capture so many of their milestones over the years.

From their engagement to their wedding day, then the arrival of their first baby—we’ve watched their love story grow. Now, with the addition of a precious newborn and their ever-energetic toddler, it was time to document yet another beautiful phase in their family journey.

A Picture-Perfect Location: Patonga, Central Coast

Patonga, tucked away on the Central Coast NSW, is one of our favourite spots for natural and relaxed family portraits. With its peaceful beaches, golden light, and quiet charm, it was the perfect backdrop for this newborn family photography Central Coast session.

We started the shoot in the late afternoon, making the most of the golden hour light that gently wrapped around this growing family. The calm waters and rustic boatsheds gave us a lovely, laid-back coastal vibe that suited Alex and Jess’s style perfectly.

Capturing the Chaos and Calm of Family Life

Photographing families with a toddler and newborn is always a fun mix of calm moments and cheerful chaos—and that’s exactly what made this shoot so authentic and memorable.

Their toddler, full of curiosity and energy, brought a playful energy to the session. From exploring the shoreline to cuddling their new baby sibling, every moment was bursting with emotion. The new baby, just a few weeks old, snoozed peacefully through most of the session, giving us those heart-melting newborn close-ups and soft family cuddles.

As experienced photographers in newborn family photography Central Coast, we know how to work around toddler moods and newborn nap times. We keep things relaxed, go with the flow, and let the moments unfold naturally. This approach allows us to capture the genuine connection and love that make each family unique.

A Continuing Love Story

Working with returning clients like Alex and Jess is one of the greatest joys of what we do. Building a relationship over time means our clients feel more relaxed in front of the camera, and we get to document their real, evolving story.

Looking back on their engagement and wedding photos, it’s incredible to see how their love has grown—not just between the two of them, but now extended to the beautiful family they’ve created. This latest newborn family photography Central Coast session was not just about capturing their newest arrival, but about celebrating the family they’ve become.
